Retired 3-star General Gary Volesky was put on suspension by the U.S. Army after a snarky Twitter reply to First Lady Jill Biden.

The Army, in reply to an inquiry by Fox News said, “Lt. Gen. Theodore Martin, commanding general of the Combined Arms Center, has suspended retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky from performing duties as a Highly Qualified Expert — Senior Mentor pending the outcome of the commander’s inquiry.”

On June 24th, FLOTUS  tweeted about the Roe v Wade reversal, “For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us. And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.”

Volesky simply replied, “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.” It has since been deleted.

According to Cynthia Smith, Army spokesperson, Gen. Martin put the retired 3-star general on suspension “pending the outcome of the commander’s inquiry.”

Volesky was one of many retired military officials whose expertise is utilized to train Army officers and civilian staff. According to USA Today, Volesky was on a $92 an hour contract at the time that his tweet brought him under fire.
