Great, even the Army is running their mouth... smh
Recently, a controversial post from a Marine recruiter went viral. The post in question was a picture of a poole (prospective applicant) with the word “QUITER” stamped over it. The backstory behind the event is unknown, but the post appeared to convey a deep sense of frustration and disappointment from the recruiter.
As you might imagine, the post sparked praise and criticism alike, and was quickly deleted. Supporters claiming that the Marine Corps is a notoriously tough institution and should endeavor to weed out the non-hackers. However, some thought it was in poor taste, and unprofessional.
However, a similar post emerged but this time from an Army recruiter. Although the video started out with the word “quitter” stamped over a picture of a future Soldier, it quickly transitioned to a satire spoof, where it said the future soldier was quitting things like paying out of pocket for school, and other turn of phrases that made it clear she was in fact joining.
The video received half a million views and hundreds of comments, many of which were other soldiers playfully chastising the perceived idea that they initially thought the video was going to be similar to the Marine post.
Some Marines took to the comments to defend their beloved Corps and this illicited heated exchanges between Soldiers and Marines. What are your thoughts on the matter? Leave a comment and buy some merch!
