Two Canadian military members were killed when a Canadian air force helicopter crashed into the Ottawa River. Two other Canadian service members have been recovered from the crash and are currently hospitalized, according to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
According to the Department of National Defence, the crash happened approximately 100 miles northwest of Ottawa near Petawawa.

The helicopter was part of a training flight which eventually lost communication.
Trudeau recently spoke with Canada’s Chief of Defence Staff where he expressed “condolences to the families and colleagues of the members who have been killed.”
Trudeau said “There will be answers to give, but right now, we’re focusing on notification on families and support.” He added that the crash that killed the two Canadian military members will be thoroughly investigated.
