Retired Army officer snipes at Elon Musk, Musk shoots back

Retired Army officer, Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman has launched a spamming smear campaign against Twitter owner Elon Musk, recently calling the eccentric a “purveyor of hate and division”.

Vindman recently shared message on Twitter that said, “Kinda weird that @elonmusk gets to decide how like a half-billion people communicate. Way too much power for one erratic individual to wield, don’t you think?”

Musk replied by calling Vindman “both puppet & puppeteer” as he blasted him for sharing the same copy-and-pasted message over dozens of other social media accounts.

The wily entrepreneur then taunted Vindman’s supporters saying that those who share such a manufactured tweet are “bots in human form”.

On Sunday, Musk begged the question, “Vindman is both puppet & puppeteer. Question is who pulls his strings … ?”

That same day, Vindman replied:

“I’ll put my reputation up against yours any day. I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to my country. Upheld my oath to protect & defend this nation at great personal cost. You’ve demonstrated yourself to be a purveyor of hate and division. Let history be the judge.”

Vindman then launched an assault on Musk’s current business endeavors: “Tesla stock is plummeting, Twitter is on the verge of insolvency, SpaceX succeeded in spite of you. You have a chance to salvage your legacy.”

The retired officer’s assessment of Musk is only the latest of a barrage of negative press following his acquisition of Twitter.

According to reports, there have been a surge in racist, transphobic, and antisemitic traffic on the platform since it was taken over by Musk. This followed a massive layoff of Twitter employees which raised concerns about whether the platform would then have enough staff to moderate content.

The Army officer has been advocating against the platform’s new management bringing attention to the spike in hate speech.

he said, “We are experiencing a rise in hate, while many look the other way or seek to profit from it. I refuse to allow this to be the norm and a part of my child’s future. I will fight against hate and extremism and for decency and acceptance.”
