The US Space Force “has officially adopted its own song titled ‘Semper Supra’ that was unveiled during the 2022 Air & Space Forces Association Air, Space and Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, Sept. 20.”

Notably, the composition was made in conjunction with the US Coast Guard band. The official release stated the song was named after the US Space Force motto, which is Latin for “Always Above.”

We shared this video to our Instagram to spread the word, and the comments were… fun. Some were really positive, and some were really snarky. Go to our post for the more colorful remarks, but here are some highlights below.

Paraphrased comments about the new Space Force song

  • “They had the chance to use the HALO 3 theme song and didn’t.”
  • “It’s very Air Force-y”
  • “I mean I like it. Should be the Halo theme though.”
  • No auto tune or synth. 2/10″
  • It’s no Anchors Aweigh, not one mention of space beer.”
  • “I mean it could be worse.”
  • “Needs more battle star vibes. Or just use Stargate theme.”
  • That’s not bad at all. Keeps on par with existing departments. Doesn’t stand out as super moto but isn’t cringe. It’s fine.”
  • “Should just be Electric Eye by Judas Priest.”
  • Shoulda had Carti on it.”

Don’t let the comments mislead you though. The military would have complained about whatever song it was. Except maybe if it was indeed the Halo theme song, but I doubt they could afford the copyright fees.

The true pulse of the military is the enlisted making jokes about the any news or occurrence. Regardless of interservice banter, we’ll raise a beer to the song of our newest branch. Cheers and Semper Supra!
