Tonight, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers take on the Michigan State Spartans in the Peach Bowl. The big news leading up to the game being Pitt taking the field without their Heisman candidate, Kenny Pickett, under center.

The Peach Bowl has been around since the late 60’s, and was adopted by Chick-Fil-A in the late 90’s. The game is played in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Neither school playing tonight has made an appearance in this bowl. So they are both looking to make their mark on history.
Pitt’s Kenny Pickett is a 23 year old, senior marketing major. He is ranking fifth nationally in passing yards and fourth in passing touchdowns. Pickett is one of the highest ranked quarterbacks in the entire country. Pitt has not had a Heisman finalist in nearly 20 years, since Larry Fitzgerald back in 2003.
However, he and Michigan State running back, Kenneth Walker, will not be playing in tonight’s game. Both players will be preparing for the 2022 NFL draft this upcoming spring.
Tonight’s game is expect to be a close contest. Michigan State (10-2) is ranked 10th nationally, while Pitt (11-2) is ranked 12th. Though Pitt has had one of their best seasons in a while, they still proved typical, with two random losses to unranked teams. Currently, the Spartans are the betting favorite, with Draft Kings reporting 69% (nice) of the bets are on Michigan State.
Though these predictions are backed by statistical analysis, I will be holding out to see Roc the panther do a victory dance. I suspect Pitt will surprise the fans tonight and pull through. Regardless, I’ll be singing sweet Caroline at half time. H2P!
