Multiple Arlington county police and medic units rushed to the Pentagon today due to a report of an active shooter at the Metrobus platform, just outside the Metro station.

There are reportedly 3 people injured as a result of the shooting, two of which are serious. One of the wounded is apparently a police officer. The two seriously injured promptly received CPR once medics arrived.

Commuters heading to the Pentagon were rushed inside for protection. An Associated Press reporter was nearby when shots rang out, then more shots were heard.

A separate journalist heard police on the scene yelling “shooter.”

First responders are currently being told that the scene is no longer active, but the suspect has not yet been located.

Trains are temporarily bypassing the Pentagon due to the shooting, as police attempt to locate the suspect.
