Club Q hero was tackled and handcuffed after helping police apply tourniquets to victims

By now, the reports of Army veteran Richard Fierro’s heroism are well know. The Iraq and Afghanistan veteran tackled a gunman, and saved lives. However when police arrived, Fierro was covered in blood and exhausted. He began coordinating with first responders. The New York Times reports he even “took tourniquets from a young police officer and put them on his bleeding friends.”

However when police arrived, Fierro was covered in blood and exhausted. He began coordinating with first responders. The New York Times reports he even “took tourniquets from a young police officer and put them on his bleeding friends.”

After helping treat the wounded, Fierro was trying to find his family when he was tackled by police. Furthermore, the Club Q hero was then handcuffed and placed in a squad car for an hour. During this time, he pleaded to be allowed to check on his family. Eventually, Fierro was released and took his daughter to the hospital for minor injuries.
