His jokes and honest takes are beloved by hundreds of thousands of people. However, he has suffered an unforeseen consequence of his efforts to entertain the masses, and promote mental health awareness.

Hy’s attorney, Adam Grogan, has stated, “He (Officer Hy) has applied from numerous promotions over the years. But every time it appears that buffalo pd is going out of there way to overlook him and the lowest common denominator is his social media activity.”
The videos Hy creates are certainly enthusiastic, but based on the real world experience he has as a Drill Sergeant and Police officer. Many feel his efforts to bring humor, and awareness to important issues should not impact his ability to progress his career. Especially considering the boom in popularity social media has seen over the last decade alone.
The Buffalo Police department declined to comment on the matter. Claiming they do not comment on pending litigation.
