Two people were arrested after a large stone-throwing brawl involving reckless driving and an electric chainsaw broke out near a construction site in Ofakim, police said.

Police said Sunday evening that two people were arrested following a large brawl near a construction site in the southern city of Ofakim.

Dramatic footage filmed by a local resident shows cars driving recklessly around a traffic circle while individuals involved in the fight threw stones at one another. In one clip, a participant appears to be carrying an electric chainsaw. No injuries were reported in the incident.

In the video, the woman filming from her home can be heard reacting as the clash unfolded below. ā€œOh my God, they started an intifada here,ā€ she said. ā€œWhat a mess, oh my God,ā€ she added as a pickup truck was seen speeding through the traffic circle. ā€œLook at that, look at the stones they’re throwing at each other. Oh my God, they came with an electric chainsaw.ā€

Police said an investigation was opened after the incident, which occurred earlier in the day. Officers who arrived at the scene detained six suspects for questioning on suspicion of involvement.

According to police, the investigation determined that the altercation stemmed from a dispute between families from the nearby town of Arara. At the conclusion of questioning, two suspects were arrested. Authorities said they intend to bring the suspects before the Beersheba Magistrate’s Court on Monday and request an extension of their detention.
