From 2012 to present day, the Headstrong has seen 90% of users have an improved quality of life. The organization sees about 1000 clients per month, spanning over several states. In the coming years, the org also expects to expand further, in order to treat even more individuals.

As a result, Headstrong offers services that explore eight different categories of mental health. These are:

  • Anxiety
  • PTSD
  • Military sexual trauma
  • Trauma, grief, loss
  • Depression
  • Anger management
  • Addiction
  • Sleep disorder

Clients are matched with therapists that will best suite them. Based off of experience and personal goals, therapists will work with clients to develop unique treatment plans.

Break the stigma

Mental health has been stigmatized in this country for decades. It is known that its hard to open and talk to others about what you’re feeling out of a multitude of fears. For those who have served or who still do, being open about your mental health can be a big obstacle.

In the military community, supporting each other is more important more than ever. The decision to serve in the military is unique to every service member. It is something the civilians may not quite understand.

It may feel as though no one could possibly understand some of the experiences that you may struggle with.

However, as the times change, stigma has been dropped from many common mental health issues. Talking about your struggles has become normalized and even encouraged in many circles.

Opening up is the hardest part, and not knowing where to start can be daunting and discouraging. However, the Headstrong organization changes that.
