Dozens of Families Displaced Because of "Rotting" Base Housing in Camp Lejeune
Reports: Over 50 families are currently displaced because of Camp Lejeune housing crisis

There are very few Military installations that have escaped the serious housing issues that are happening nation wide, and Camp Lejeune is not one of them.
Tenants have reached out to me by the dozens that are still living in mold, severe water damage and poor ventilation. It has been reported that over 50+ families are currently displaced, or were displaced for weeks at a time with no word on their home or what was being done.
Tenants said they have tried what little resources they have, including their Tenants Bill of Rights. After a month and a half wait, families reported finally being able to finally use the dispute resolution process but even that isn’t reliable.
Tenants have expressed concern over the amount of work that needs to be done, and being put back into their homes too soon, which has already happened according to some families.
Tenants have paid for their own mold testing, and have gotten results that reflect high spore count. Some have said Atlantic Marine Corps Communities wont accept outside testing.

The housing issues in Camp Lejeune are never ending, the number of moved or displaced families continues to grow. Tenants just want a resolution, and are still waiting for acknowledgment from their commands and even the housing companies. Families are being moved from one moldy house to another.
Camp Lejeune housing is currently being managed by Atlantic Marine Corps Communities, Lendlease, and Liberty Military Housing.
Lendlease recently lost a lawsuit in Fort Cavasos, Texas and were ordered to pay $10M to a Military family who lived in their housing. Hunt also lost a lawsuit in September 2023 and were ordered to pay a Military family $91K for damages. Hunt Military Communities is taking over for Atlantic Marine Corp Communities and Lendlease at Camp Lejeune in the wake of these lawsuits. Liberty Military Housing will remain one of the companies managing Camp Lejeune housing.
