Iran acting president speech

Iran's acting President Mohammad Mokhber addressed the country's new parliament Monday, marking his first public appearance since the recent helicopter crash that claimed the life of his predecessor, Ebrahim Raisi, and seven others.

In his speech, Mokhber praised Raisi's tenure, highlighting achievements in crude oil production and economic stability amidst military actions in neighboring countries.

Meanwhile, Iran's hard-line parliament is set to elect its new speaker on Tuesday.

Mokhber's remarks come ahead of Iran's presidential election scheduled for June 28, with speculation arising about his potential candidacy.

Additionally, Iran's commitment to supporting Palestine and efforts to lift sanctions remain unchanged, according to statements from the foreign ministry.

The recent fatal helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of Raisi and other high-ranking officials, has cast a shadow over Iran's political landscape as the country prepares for upcoming elections. With hard-liners dominating the newly elected parliament, Iran's political dynamics continue to evolve under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

As Iran navigates through these transitions, all eyes remain on the upcoming presidential elections and the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the country's economic challenges amidst international sanctions.
