The Navy has been Tom’s wingman for years, providing him with access to their most advanced planes and even letting him fly them (don’t worry, they have autopilot for when he gets distracted by his reflection in the cockpit)

Tom Cruise and the United States Navy have had a long-standing relationship that spans over three decades. Tom Cruise has been the face of some of the biggest blockbusters in Hollywood history. His impressive filmography spans a variety of genres, but there’s one constant throughout it all: his love for the United States Navy. From his iconic role as a naval aviator in Top Gun to his recent stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Cruise has made it clear that he has a deep admiration for the Navy.

Reports dictated and people believed that Tom Cruise and the U.S. Navy would be ecstatic over their recent shared success with 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick” and both would be happy as each moved on with their respective lives, except that’s not the case. Variety reports that Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie are shooting flight scenes for “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two” on an aircraft carrier in the Adriatic Sea, and it is set to release on June 28, 2024.

So what is it about the Navy that keeps Cruise coming back for more? Perhaps it’s the thrill of flying in some of the world’s most advanced aircraft, or the camaraderie and discipline that comes with serving in the military. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that the Navy and Tom Cruise have a special bond that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. It’s as if the two are a match made in Hollywood and maritime heaven.

However, their relationship has not always been smooth sailing, and there have been times when Cruise’s behavior has caused controversy within the Navy. In 2019, Cruise visited the USS Theodore Roosevelt to prepare for his role in the upcoming movie “Top Gun: Maverick.”

During his visit, he was given a tour of the aircraft carrier and was allowed to interact with the crew. However, some members of the Navy were not pleased with Cruise’s behavior, which they felt was disruptive and disrespectful. Despite this, the Navy and Cruise seem to be unable to quit each other, as they continue to collaborate on various projects.

The relationship between Tom Cruise and the United States Navy is a complex one that has endured for over 30 years. While there have been bumps in the road, both parties seem to recognize the value of their collaboration and continue to work together on various projects. Whether this partnership will continue in the future remains to be seen, but for now, it seems that the Navy and Tom Cruise are in it for the long haul.
