Taliban releases photos of equipment they inherited from US withdrawal
The Taliban recently showcased American military hardware acquired during the disorderly retreat from Afghanistan, raising concerns and issues regarding the region's future. The possible threat presented by the Taliban gaining cutting-edge equipment has now been brought to light more by the publication of pictures that show rows on armored vehicles, helicopters, or other specialized equipment left untouched by the American military.
Several people have raised concernes about troubling photographs released by the Taliban, especially Congressional republicans such as Rep. Morgan Luttrell, R-Texas, who described them as troubling and highlighted the possible danger they present to the US and its allies.

In addition to giving the Taliban considerable strategic superiority, the Taliban’s capture of US military hardware has sparked concerns about the equipment’s possible use against the US and its allies. Modern technology deployed by the US military involves drones, night vision devices, and communication devices that the Taliban might exploit to launch assaults and improve their capabilities.
The Taliban’s distribution of the images has made it even more clear that there has to be a comprehensive probe of the poorly executed departure from Afghanistan. Rep. Luttrell has urged accountability and openness in the probe as the House Republicans continue their quest for solutions.
There are still frequent allegations of violence and Taliban infringements on human rights in Afghanistan. It is unknown how the US and its allies would react here to seizing US military hardware, which has made the situation more problematic.
The tumultuous scenario at Kabul’s airport delayed the American military’s departure from Afghanistan for a few days, which was the original plan. After the US and its allies retreated, the Taliban quickly assumed control of the nation, trapping many Afghans and making them concerned for their safety.
Several experts and congressmen have argued that the US should’ve just better organized and carried out the evacuation, and as a result, the Biden administration has come under heavy fire for its management of the departure. That opposition has grown as a consequence of the Taliban acquiring US military weapons, and it’s currently unknown how the issue will be addressed.
