According to reports from Syria’s state media, Israel launched an airstrike on the international airport located in Aleppo, Northern Syria. These attacks reportedly resulted in the death of one Syrian soldier and injuries to five other Syrian soldiers and two civilians.

The airport played a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid into Syria, especially after the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6, resulting in the deaths of more than 50,000 people, including 6,000 in Syria. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a monitoring group based in the United Kingdom and opposed to the Syrian government, the air raid focused on a weapons storage facility located near the airport.

SOHR also reported Israeli raids at a military airport in the Aleppo countryside, although Syrian state media did not mention it. Israel has promised to stop Iranian entrenchment in neighboring countries and has carried out hundreds of attacks on government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years but rarely acknowledges them. In March, Israel struck Aleppo’s airport twice and put it out of commission for several days.

SANA’s report on Saturday, Israeli air attacks in Homs caused injuries to three civilians and resulted in a civilian fuel station catching fire. Meanwhile, the SOHR claimed that the missiles launched by Israel destroyed an ammunition depot that was owned by Hezbollah, a Lebanese group supported by Iran, at a military airport located in the rural area of Homs.

The conflict in Syria has persisted for over a decade, leading to the expulsion of millions and the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives. The humanitarian crisis in Syria is severe, with millions of people requiring assistance, such as food, water, shelter, and medical attention.
