Chicago’s Democratic Mayor, Lori Lightfoot responded to two bus loads of illegal aliens from Texas by saying that she’d be “happy to drain Texas of all its residents.” Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who sent the two busses to Chicago’s Union Station, says that Lightfoot is being an “absolute hypocrite.”

During a Thursday press conference following the arrival of the migrants, Lightfoot said:

“I’m happy to take and drain Texas, of all of its residents. I wouldn’t want to live in a state with a Governor like that. I certainly wouldn’t want to live in a state where they are doing everything they can to strip people of their basic rights. And let’s not forget about what they’ve done to women and others who were seeking reproductive health care.”

Lightfoot also said that Chicago will rent the buses needed to ship the next wave of migrants who enter the United States illegally in droves.

In spite if Lightfoot’s opinion on Texas as a place to live, data suggests that her constituents don’t agree. According to an article by Forbes, Illinois is number three on the list of states that residents are moving out of and Texas sits pretty at number one on the list of states that citizens are moving into. These numbers are based on change of address data from the USPS.

According to the Chicago Mayor, the two busses contained 75 migrants — many of whom were from Venezuela — who crossed the border into Texas illegally.

Abbott announced that Chicago has been added to the list of “drop-off locations” such as NYC and D.C. for the predictably consistent waves of illegal migrants crossing into the US in record numbers in response to “President Biden’s open border policies overwhelming border communities in Texas.”

Lightfoot said, “Let me say loud and clear to Greg Abbott and his enablers in Texas with these continued political stunts, Gov. Abbott has confirmed what unfortunately many of us had known already, that he is a man without any morals, humanity or shame.”

Abbott’s press secretary Renea Eze replied by saying that Lightfoot is an “absolute hypocrite”, stating:

“Where was her outrage and condemnation of President Biden as he flew planeloads of migrants across the country and dropped them in communities in the cover of night? Mayor Lightfoot knows nothing about Texas’ busing strategy and needs to stop with the baseless lies and fearmongering. Texas continues stepping up and responding to the Biden-made border crisis, taking unprecedented action to address the historic levels of illegal immigrants, terrorists, and deadly drugs like fentanyl that are surging into our communities and overwhelming border towns. If the mayor wants a solution to this humanitarian crisis, she should stop complaining and call on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the border, something the President continues failing to do.”
