Police have arrested a suspect in connection with five separate shootings. Two of the attacks were fatal, however all of the victims were homeless men residing in New York City and Washington, D.C.

Authorities launched a massive manhunt and used ballistic forensics to connect the spree across multiple cities. NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell stated, “Our homeless population is one of our most vulnerable and an individual preying on them as they sleep is an exceptionally heinous crime.”

City officials urged unhoused residents to find some type of shelter while the investigation unfolded. Detectives used surveillance videos to establish a primary suspect. This led to the apprehension of the man pictured below in Washington, D.C.
